Host a job shadow at the 2013 Job Shadow event!

The Job Shadow event is an opportunity for your business to increase your customer base, support your future workforce, and build brand recognition!

During the week of March 25-29, 2013, Step It Up will partner with innovative businesses to host a Job Shadow Event that will provide local youth with the chance to experience their career interests and get real world perspectives from experts in their field. Job Shadow Hosts connect with potential new customers and create a talent pipeline for their future workforce.

Job Shadow Host fee is $100/youth & includes:

• Pre-event online trainings for youth participants
• Job Shadow/Industry Orientation by Group Leaders
• Youth transportation to & from Job Shadow sites
• Job Shadow Experience at Job Shadow Sites
• Recap Celebration for youth, Job Shadow Hosts & SIU Supporters
• Job Shadow Host benefits ranging from $100-$2,000 (See below)

About The Job Shadow Event:

• Your business connects with new customers and youth by hosting a Job Shadow opportunity that is promoted across the Portland metro area through online and printed newspapers, and internationally through SIU’s social media sites and on YouTube!

• Job shadows provide an opportunity for you to share your career experience and why you do what you do. Your sharing gives direction and inspiration to young people trying to find a satisfying career and helps to grow your company brand throughout Portland.

• High school students from the Portland metro area participate in the Job Shadow Event to learn about your business and get expert perspectives from your employees. These young people are your future customers and workforce.

Job Shadow Week Schedule:

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 1pm-4pm
• Youth attend Job Shadow/Industry Orientation

Wednesday, March 27, 2013 1pm-4pm
• Youth meet at Job Shadow Host Sites for 3-8 hour Job Shadow Experience

Thursday, March 28, 2013 1pm-4pm
• Youth meet at Job Shadow Host Site for 3-8 hour Job Shadow Experience

Friday, March 29, 2013 1pm-4pm
• Recap Celebration for Youth & Job Shadow Hosts
• Video Creation with Youth & Job Shadow Hosts
• Announcement & Awards
• Prizes for Youth Participants

 

Job Shadow Host Benefits List:

$2,000 Host        
• Press release naming Job Shadow Hosts for (20) youth and announcing Job Shadow
• Full-page for company name, logo and personal message in Event program
• Group Leader for Job Shadow/Industry Orientation with job shadow youth (optional)
• Company name & logo on all event materials, SIU website and social media sites
• Two-minute Welcome & Company Promotion at Recap Celebration

$1,000 Host        
• Press release naming Job Shadow Hosts for (10) youth and announcing Job Shadow
